Drums, bass and main guitar was recorded in 1 take at the end of a session in case we captured something. We only played this one a couple of times before but sometimes recording like that is the best way. It's not perfect but it's not supposed to be. We really were working up a sweat that day!

I'm sad to see this era of Beastmaker close out but this is a phenomenal way to do! Black Butterfly might be the best thing they've ever done. dianonhead

The rhythm section is in a hypnotic groove, the bass with an extraordinary gravely tone anchored in doom, while layered lead guitars dance and interweave in jams reminiscent of a hazy sun-baked Woodstock. Add in some existential lyrics which call to mind Albert Camus' The Stranger (which inspired The Cure's Killing an Arab) and what you get is a superb album. Summer of Love?... more like Summer of DOOM! Master of Alchemy
