You wanna get high, oh yeah
sail the velvet sky
you light the fuse oh man
for that same old countdown
I watched the sun sinking
under the boiling sea
the tide rushes in
yeah and the waves keep rolling
When the spell is broken
and the mojo can't be found
all the colours turn grey
and you can't hear a single sound
I knew it was over (oh man)
had to open the can of worms
yeah and you know what they say
you just gotta eat 'em down
Ah it don't mean nothin
ha ha ha
it's all just the same
Back at the house of pain
lie down on the cold hard stone
because the room is spinning
ah and it feels just like home
When you found me
you had to kick down the door
I'm like a bag of sand, in a million pieces
been dropped on the floor
let's boogie
I'm sad to see this era of Beastmaker close out but this is a phenomenal way to do! Black Butterfly might be the best thing they've ever done. dianonhead
The rhythm section is in a hypnotic groove, the bass with an extraordinary gravely tone anchored in doom, while layered lead guitars dance and interweave in jams reminiscent of a hazy sun-baked Woodstock. Add in some existential lyrics which call to mind Albert Camus' The Stranger (which inspired The Cure's Killing an Arab) and what you get is a superb album. Summer of Love?... more like Summer of DOOM! Master of Alchemy
